Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is a heat plasticizable elastic polyurethane that combines a number of excellent properties of rubber and plastic. In addition, TPU has excellent abrasion resistance, aging resistance, and high resilience. However, TPU is flammable, with a limiting oxygen index (LOI) of only 16% to 18%, and in the event of fire, it will burn and decompose rapidly, generating large amounts of toxic fumes. It is therefore necessary to carry out flame-retardant treatment for it.

Advantages
Our composite flame retardant for TPU mainly has the following advantages:
- It does not have stick-slip phenomenon during processing, and does not release gases such as phosphine.
- It has good flame retardancy and good compatibility with TPU, and can meet the requirements of applications in many fields.
Usage and Dosage
- Add 5%-10% of this product in polyester TPU to reach UL 94 V-0 rating at 3.2 mm thickness, or 10%-15% to reach UL 94 V-0 rating at 1.6 mm thickness.
- Add 15%-25% of this product to polyether TPU to reach UL 94 V-0 rating at 3.2 mm and 1.6 mm thickness.
