Vertical burning refers to the test method for measuring the time and burning state of the flame burning and flameless burning of the sample in the way that the sample of the specified size and shape clamped at the upper end is in a vertical position and the free end is exposed to the specified gas flame.
Test Range
The vertical burning test is suitable for plastics, foams, films, textiles, coatings, rubber, etc., but not for construction materials.
Optional Items and Standards
Test Items | Test Standards | Sample Size | Sample Number |
---|---|---|---|
Vertical burning (20 mm flame) | UL94 for classifying materials V-0, V-1 or V-2 | 125×13×(0.025~13) mm | 20pcs |
Vertical burning (Soft thin material, 20 mm flame) | UL94 for Classifying Materials VTM-0, VTM-1 or VTM-2. | 200×50 mm Thickness < 0.25 mm | 20pcs |
Vertical burning (125 mm flame) | UL94 for Classifying Materials 5VA or 5VB | Bar specimens: 125×13 mm, Thickness ≤ 13 mm; Plaque specimens: 150×150 mm, Thickness ≤ 13 mm | 20 (Bar specimens) 12 (Plaque specimens) |
